What completely swept me off my feet was the becalming ambience and the oriental decor that instantly transcends one to the “Land of Smiles”- Thailand. Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Vasant Kunj, Sawadhee Spa is like an oasis of tranquillity amidst the din and chaos. After a soothing cup of warm rhododendron tea, I was offered a wide variety of therapeutic massage oils and scrubs to choose from. In the mood to sink into a blissful experience, I chose the “relaxing” oils and the opulent red wine scrub.
The sprawling property houses four floors with single and couple rooms bedecked with jacuzzi, steam and sauna and a shower area. The royal experience started instantly with a foot scrub in a rose-petalled urn, followed by an hour of magical massage strokes that instantly diluted all the tiredness from my aching body. The calmness and dim hue of the aromatic candles soothed my frayed senses. A hissing steam room to soak in the oils thereafter was followed by the red wine scrub for a sweet-scented, glowing skin. A quick shower and then a dip into the blossom-filled jacuzzi bath completed my ethereal experience. Honestly, I felt nothing short of royalty.
