Red isn’t a colour I usually go for, but a few months ago, I was so drawn by it, and funnily enough, my phone heard me and validated my thoughts. I came across what is easily one of my favourite home decor trends, the Unexpected Red Theory. The term was coined by TikTok creator and interior designer Taylor Migliazzo Simon, which basically centres around adding a pop of red in any corner of your home (even if it feels absurd) to instantly elevate the space.
If you're confused, trust us when we say that it'll all makes sense when you see it. You can use any shade of red — as bright or as deep — to make any part of your home automatically look better and elevated.
It can be as simple as adding a lamp, or as complicated as painting your entrance door red (which we have witnessed right here in Delhi). Red as a colour is bright, fiery, and attention-grabbing, and here are a few items to add to your home if you're putting this theory to test, like me.
