In no particular order, here are 75 of Bangalore's most bankable restaurants, cafes, bars, and breweries we loved, dined at, and went back to this year.

A new entrant in our list of ‘Places I can’t wait to make plans for again’ is Circa11. Done up in clean New York-inspired loft-like interiors with muted grey tones, the transformation from a leisurely brunch spot in the day to an ambient date location at night is truly shapeshifting. There’s no particular cuisine followed; it’s based purely on what Chef Pradyumna Harithsa, the chef-partner, is inspired by and the ingredients at hand. The wine list is extensive, and the cocktails menu is punchy.

Bob's Bar
The running joke is 'Can you get a table at Bob's on the weekend?' The reason why the space is packed seven days a week is due to the fact that it pretty much recreates old Bangalore's pub culture, small plates of local food and moderately priced alcohol. The vibe is super inclusive, with groups of friends catching up, couples on dates or coworkers relaxing after a long day.

Coracle
Coracle is giving Bangalore a taste of Kerala Syrian Christian, Mangalorean and Tamil Food. It’s food that feels like home yet surprises you left, right and centre. Then, you jump to Chicken Cutlets, Mutton Ularthiyathu, Prawn Fry, and Mutton Pallipalayam. The last one still visits us in our dreams (the hungry kind). Then you get the Appam and Prawn Mango Curry and man oh man, it hits so good! And in the end, you let things cool down with the Tender Coconut Pudding (yum).

Malgudi Mylari Mane
The menu at Malgudi Mylari Mane is Karnataka-style naati (or local) food inspired by the Kaveri region. Meats take the centre stage here. The food is filling, not to be confused with being heavy, it’s home-styled food done really well. You start off with the fluffy Mylari dose, easy to chow down with the dollop of butter, coconut chutney and saagu it is served with. For the main act, drop the pretense and order a serving (or two) of the Chicken Pepper Fry, Mutton Chops, and Chicken Keema Goju. Additionally, head to their cosy setting for hogging on some mutton pulav with paya and curries early in the morning, not that’s what we call the breakfast of champions.

Backer & Charlie
Backer & Charlie is strictly for days when we are feeling over indulgent for our breakfast outings. It’s a German bakery and cafe that serves bread-y delights so good, it should be a crime. Our solo date here starts with the Caprese-Insalata Focaccia sandwich, fresh and very delicious; then we move on to something sweet like the Nutella Pretzel that is heavenly with that sea salt on top. The coffee is fab, fresh and well-brewed and at times, we treat ourselves to some hot chocolate, rich and comforting.
