What makes a good burger? Well, to us, it's got soft buns that hold their own and don't crumble, a patty that's juicy and flavourful, and an ample amount of sauces and toppings. When we tucked into one of the Beyondburg Inc. burgers, we knew we had a seriously good burger in our hands. We met the chef and founder Mohammed Anas at their first outlet in Bangalore inside Prestige Towers on Palace Road (next to Sophia High School), and he told us that this actually wasn't the first one! Beyondburg Inc. started small near Christ University before becoming what it is today and now they are back. And we're glad. Because good burgers are hard to come by in Bangalore.
The most popular burger on their menu is the Smash Burger, a double patty tenderloin burger with chef's special sauce, but we were nursing a half-full stomach so we went with the Asian-slaw Burger. This one was smashing 'cause the crispy chicken with the Buffalo sauce and raw mango Asian slaw worked so well. We paired that with an Orange Aqua Fresca. The menu at Beyondburg Inc. is limited and straightforward and we love that. It's more on the meatier side with just one vegetarian burger option but we have no complaints. The Animal Fries are what you need to pair your burger with—they're loaded fries with caramelised onions and minced tenderloin or chicken topping. There's New York Cheese Bagels on the menu that are perfectly paired with specialty coffee, or you can also help yourself to some chicken strips and a Burnt Basque cheesecake, and call it a well-balanced meal.
We are going back for the Smash and Swiss Cheese Burgers and to try some of that Chickago-style Hotdog. It's got deep-fried chicken sausage—yum!
