What Makes It Awesome

South Bangalore folks, have you been craving  great artisan coffee that you don’t have to travel over 8-10kms for (looking at you Koramangala, Indiranagar!) for artisan coffee? Enter Caffeine Baar in Jayanagar 9th block run by a duo who are equally passionate about growing coffee as they are about making coffee drinking a whole multi-sensory experience.

Started to showcase the fabulous coffee that Baarbara Estate in Chikmanglur produces, the team works to develop roasts and blends specifically for Caffeine Baar. At the moment, they feature five types of beans, and blends, curated after extensive experimentation in the fermentation and roasting. We tried the Pineapple fermented one (bet you’ve not tried that anywhere!) and were amazed by the difference in mouthfeel and taste when brewed with a syphon and that of the pour over! What’s great is that you too can learn and experience this with them as their staff is specially trained to take customers through the coffee experience - from bean to cup. This is echoed in the experience centre space -- from snapshots of their estate and processes, the bar seating to view your coffee brewing, and the cupping room where they plan to host small events and workshops.

Not experimental? They definitely have your usual cappuccinos, lattes, espressos, and flavoured coffees (we enjoyed their mocha). Pair that with their cookies, quiches, and small eats (you won’t regret trying their paneer burji croissant), and you’ll leave a truly happy camper.

What Could Be Better

If you’re driving your car there, prepare to hunt for parking. Two wheelers can comfortably park though.

Pro-Tip

They have wifi, so if you need a change of scene, you can work out of there too. And if you want to take coffee home, feel free to let them know the grind size and roast, and they'll grind some for you.
