BISKIT, the brainchild of Shruti and Harsha Biswajit, is more than just a fashion brand, it's a unique fusion of fine art and contemporary design with a strong focus on sustainability. The name 'BISKIT' is a clever play on words. It incorporates the first three letters of their surname, Biswajit, while also evoking the charm of biscuits. This amalgamation mirrors the brand's blend of seriousness in design with a playful and lighthearted approach. Shruti and Harsha embarked on their creative journey towards the end of 2017. Drawing from their shared experiences living in New York, they envisioned a multidisciplinary design studio that blurs the lines between fashion, art, and design. They aimed to merge the Brooklyn vibe with their own backgrounds, crafting a unique aesthetic that is quintessentially BISKIT.

Creating gender-neutral fashion posed a design challenge for them, and the founders painstakingly experimented with each piece, refining them to ensure they accommodate different body types. This process led to the development of unique features, such as drop-shoulder designs and relaxed styles, ensuring that BISKIT's pieces are truly inclusive. BISKIT adopts a unique approach to production, with each style being produced in limited quantities, with a maximum of 21 editions. The exclusivity of their pieces enhance customer experience, ensuring that every purchase is not just a fashion statement but an art investment. Customers receive a physical certificate of authenticity with detailed information about their garments.

With sustainability at the forefront, the brand exclusively uses deadstock fabric, minimising the need for new production. They actively seek opportunities to incorporate recycled materials, further reducing their environmental impact and breathing new life into existing resources.

Their physical store is known as SPACE BISKIT, and serves as a hub for exploring the brand's unique world of art and fashion. They are located in Adyar and open from Monday to Saturday. This physical space is a testament to BISKIT's dedication to creating a tangible and immersive experience for its customers, allowing them to connect with the brand's ethos in person. It's a must-visit for those looking to explore the fascinating intersection of art, fashion, and sustainability.
