Calling all art-lover to this unique celebration of art. A three-day pop up organised by Drawing Index will see art of various themes and motifs displayed in the Cholamandal Artists’ Village on January 13 and 14. Drawing Index will be featuring three eminent and emerging artists: Sujeeth Kumar Sree Kandan, Vasundhara Shankari Sellamuthu, and Arvind Sundar. All three artists have displayed their work internationally and have received critical acclaim.
The art will unlock aspects of everyday life through a range of media including paint, screen-printing, cement, etching on steel, and soot on canvas. One of the themes represents everyday life activities like the sounds of vessels being washed through synaesthetic drawing. Also on display will be Untitled, a grid of thirty four-inch square canvases functioning as indexes which hold traces and residues of candle soot. The event will also see art inspired by scratch walls made by builders and architectural graphics. From free form to abstract art, this event is a treat for art lovers.
