Tapping into the grocery supply chain, Zomato has launched Zomato Market to deliver staples and home essentials across the country, as residents struggle to buy daily essentials amidst the COVID-19 lockdown. Having started this service in 80 cities, the Zomato app now features Zomato Market that lists all the food stores that are functioning in your area.
In Chennai, the service is available across multiple locations like Anna Nagar, Nungambakkam, Chetpet, Valsaravakkam, Purusaiwakkam, Adyar, Alwarpet, T Nagar and more. Stores like Ooty Fruits & Vegetables, Sunny Bee, Pets 101, Cosmo Fine Foods are now delivering through the app. However, just like with food delivery, this service is operational only for limited hours during the day - between 7 and 9 in the morning and between 12 to 2 in the noontime. They've also launched contactless delivery and have paused cash on delivery as a hygiene measure.
